Drill practice is best exemplified by flashcard style learning in which learning events each consist of an initial test followed by explicit corrective feedback in the case of an error.

Drill may take a variety of forms:

Ecological drill -- uses unique content for each repetition of a specific knowledge component Multiple choice drill -- uses multiple choice answers rather than fill in the blank Implicit drill -- provides no explicit correction, but rather only give correctness feedback
